From a very young age, I was exposed to many creatives in my family. My grandmother was a painter and my uncles were architects, graphic designers, and entrepreneurs. Watching each of them in their element inspired me to cultivate my own creativity.
I completed a bachelor of fine arts in visual effects and motion graphics from MIU in 2008. I have since worked with many prominent companies and clients including, but not limited to:
- Discovery Channel
But my passion for art started while I watched my graphic designer uncle do his work. I remember using Microsoft Paint to create art and I eventually moved up to using Corel Painter and then Adobe Photoshop at the age of 15. I have always enjoyed watching movies and I was inspired by the motion graphics and animation from all the greats, like the original Tron.
Movies also became my muse for photography. Cinematography showcases the essence of art via lighting and composition while capturing mood and emotion. I wanted to start to recreate work that tells inspirational stories through imagery. I began my photography adventure in 2009 with my first camera (the Cannon Rebel T1). I then merged my background in motion graphics and design with photography to create a new passion.
I would describe my photography as surreal, dramatic, and cinematic yet still very transitional to move according to the story behind the image. The creative journey continues…
